Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to the most common questions about PokoBuilder. If you cannot find what you are looking for, use the “Report” button in the bottom-right corner of the page.
What is PokoBuilder?
PokoBuilder is a web service that converts 2D images into block-building blueprints for the Nintendo Switch 2 game “Pokemon Pokopia.” Upload your favourite characters, logos, or illustrations and PokoBuilder automatically maps them to in-game blocks and paints. A step-by-step build guide helps you recreate the design accurately.
Is it free to use?
Yes, all core features are free. You can convert images into blueprints, use AI background removal, follow the build guide, check the materials list, and save or share blueprints at no cost. Just sign in with your Google account to get started.
What does a Pro subscription include?
Pro ($2.99/month) unlocks every tool in the pixel art editor, including block replacement, colour swapping, and favourite blocks. It also removes ads. If you subscribe during the early-access period, you keep the current price even after future increases.
What kind of images work best?
Images with simple backgrounds and fewer colours convert best. Logos, pixel art, and flat-style character illustrations produce excellent results. Complex photos can work too, but enabling background removal will give you a much cleaner output.
How does background removal work?
Toggle “AI Background Removal” when creating a blueprint. The AI detects and removes the background automatically. Processing happens entirely in your browser, so your image never leaves your device. After the automatic pass, you can fine-tune the edges with a brush tool. It takes about 30 seconds.
Can I share a blueprint with friends?
Yes. Press the “Share” button on any blueprint page to generate a link. Copy and send it via any messenger, social network, or community. Recipients can view the blueprint, build guide, and material list without signing in.
Where do I get blocks in the game?
Check the Databasepage for each block's source. Blocks come from nature (harvest), crafting stations, or painting. The material list tab on each blueprint also shows where to obtain every block.
How do I make paint?
Collect any of the 8 in-game berry types to create base paint colours. Mix two base colours to produce a new shade. PokoBuilder currently supports 18 paint colours. Visit the Paints tab on the Database page for every recipe.
How many blocks are supported?
PokoBuilder currently supports 51 block types and 18 paint colours. When the game adds new blocks or paints, we update the tool as quickly as possible. Check the News page for the latest updates.
Is PokoBuilder affiliated with Nintendo?
No. PokoBuilder is an independent fan-made tool with no official partnership or affiliation with Nintendo or The Pokemon Company. “Pokemon” and “Pokopia” are trademarks of their respective owners.
Is my personal data safe?
Yes. Background removal runs entirely in your browser, so your images are never sent to a server. When you sign in with Google, we collect only the minimum profile information needed. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I get a refund?
If you request a refund within 14 days of your Pro subscription payment, you can do so from the Settings page. Select a reason and submit. The refund is typically processed within 3 to 5 business days depending on your card issuer. Duplicate charges or errors are refunded regardless of the time period.
